A classic dish with crisp topping and and gooey filling
Preheat oven to 375F
In a pan, add 2 tbsp butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar and heat on medium high heat until it becomes a caramel like sauce.
Juice 1/2 of the lemon and slice the other half. Add in the lemon juice and slices, apples, salt, and cinnamon into pan. Cook and stir apples for about 6-7 min, or until apples are soft.
Mix the flour, oats, melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a large bowl. You will add the almonds later.
Add the filling into a 8-9 inch pan, or something similar. Spread the crumble mixture evenly on top. Lastly, sprinkle the almond slivers on top of the crumble.
Bake in a preheated oven for about 25 min, or until you observe browning and bubbles on top. If you see almonds getting too browned, you can cover with a sheet of aluminum foil to avoid burning.
Serve warm and enjoy!
